Robbie at the Bubble Battle NYC 2008 in Times Square. Robbie took the battle part a little too seriously and was attacking everyone in his path. We had lots of fun and the bubble guns were perfect.

Day 196 (365) 6/20/2008
Duke getting ready to say his Valedictorian speech at his elementary school graduation. This was the best picture I could take right before I started to cry. He's truly a great kid.
Day 194 (365) 6/18/2008
The yearbooks finally arrived and I was impressed by the quality (despite the minor mistakes). Best of all the students loved them, which is all that matter :-)
Day 192 (365) 6/16/2008
One of my colleagues face-painting at the Math Carnival Night. I later joined her and discovered yet another hidden talent of mine :-)

Day 190 (365)
I printed the first six months of this project. I am a little disappointed about the quality of the cover, but the pictures look great. I have to admit, though, seeing the images on print made them more "real" than they'll ever be online. I can't wait for December and I print the final copy.
Day 189 (365) 6/13/08
My sister-in-law, Esmeralda, getting an autograph of the hunk of Gatorno after seeing "Doña Flor y Sus Dos Maridos". She was super excited after seeing him nude, so she made me walk up to the third floor with her, get his autograph and take a picture of her next to him. Then she called her husband, my brother, and told him all about it.
Day 188 (365) 6/12/08
Duke at Digital Downtown. He spent quite some time figuring out how to work the guitar. He was so concentrated I didn't want to disturb him, so I took this from far away.

Day 187 (365) 6/11/08
Meet Mr. Muffler of Jerome Avenue, The Bronx. I found this marketing contraption a block away from my job, in front of a car repair shop. I thought it was nicely done and rather friendly.

Day 185 (365) 6/9/08
I had to take a cab after work today because my body went into shock when I felt the heat. The cars thermometer read 101 degrees (F) as the external temperature. Even as I upload this picture and it's 10 degrees cooler is hard for me to breath....and to think that summer hasn't arrived yet.
Day 184 (365) 6/8/08
I am officially on the second half of my project. I have to say, it has been both interesting and challenging. I was reviewing all my pictures today and was surprised at the amount of stuff I forgot. This picture portrays a rare occurrence: Kenny at the barbershop. He didn't quite get a hair cut, he kinda just trimmed the shape of his hairline. He calls this a "tape-up". It must be a real word, because he gave instructions to the Junior (the barber) in Spanglish and they both seemed satisfied in the end.
Day 183 (365) 6/7/08
Today was my Emily's First Holy Communion. Emily is my favorite, and only, niece. So I had to be there, even if this meant I had to wake up early on a Saturday morning and struggle with Duke to dress up. We love Maria Ramos :-)
Day 182 (365) 6/6/08
Guess who's back from camera hospital? .... yup, you guessed right, it's Altagracia! Isn't she beautiful?

Day 181 (365)
Triv, Colleen and I were sitting in the "Gossip Free Zone" and guess what we were doing....yup, gossiping, until Medina pointed it out, so Colleen and Triv posed for me.
Day 180 (365)
I took Duke to get a physical today and he got a shot, blood drawn and a ppd. He was really brave and a really good sport about it. Here he is showing the injuries.

Day 179 (365)
Co-workers ready to set up for field day. I was pretty sick today, but still had a lot of fun :-)
Day 178 (365)
Altagracia!!!! We miss you!!! Here are Extreme and Crucial waiting for you....come home soon!

Day 176 (365)
This is the contact sheet of my 26 Things project. The rules of the project was to take a picture of something to represent each letter of the alphabet. I decided to make it a little more interesting and make my project bilingual (English/Spanish). To make matters worse I don't have Altagracia (my rebel xti) and I had to borrow a Sony and a Canon point-and-shoot cameras. I spent much of the day gathering photos I took in May and frustrated taking the pictures I was missing. Here's the final product, enjoy! (click here for the slideshow)
Day 174 (365) may 29
My school won third place in the asthma contest, so we got to go Shea and meet a player. Here's Duke shaking Pedro Feliciano's hand. Congrats to my student Diana Q. who won us third place and to Clarisa, Keli and Marleny, who got honorable mention.
Day 173 (365) may 28
These some of our Highbridge contest posters including the first place winner. Congrats to Diana G. and Triv!
Day 172 (365) may 27
We had to go to 149th St. today to ship Altagracia back to Canon. We got caught in the rain and got to ride a polka-dot bus seats. This cheered me up a tiny little bit, but I started to miss Altagracia :-(
Day 171 (365) may 26
Today was the last day of the H2O=life exhibit at the museum of Natural History. We really enjoyed it, and learned lots of scary stuff. I though this globe was awesome, it was a projection from at least 4 diferent projectors merged into a really cool and informative presentation.
Day 170 (365) may 25
The Brooklyn Bridge turned 125 this weekend. Special color lights illuminated the bridge and I missed the fireworks on thursday. It's still a nice view from the seaport.
Day 169 (365) may 24
Congrat! cuzo Steph for graduating from college today !!! yay!! Congrats on the Fullbright too!!
Day 166 (365)
"DO NOT FOLLOW" -- I was a little confused by this and so was my dad. We didn't have much choice since it was running in front of us, so we follwed it :-)
Day 165 (365)
I apologize, but I completely forgot to take a picture today. This is gonna have to do.
Day 164 (365)
Steph painted this inspied by Day 107 of this project. Thanx Steph on behalf of me and Kenny :-)
Day 162 (365)
This is the corner of Burnside and the Grand Concourse. A few months ago I took a picture of this same when the Elks Lodge still stood here. I have no clue why it was demolished it.
Day 160 (365)
I get to work early and this is how I am rewarded. I am greeted by a toilet brush in front of The Closet.
Day 159 (365)
Today was the last day of the after school program, so Triv and I decided to give the kids an ice cream party.
Day 158 (365)
Tomorrow is the deadline for the yearbook and I'm still working on it. I know this will be a long night.
Day 153 (365)
Triv conditions the kindergarteners to be Mets fans by making them memorize the names of the players.
